We'd like to introduce you to the man behind the beats Aaron Laloyer.
Everything we do is with intention, including the music that supports our imagery and campaigns, and he is the man with the skills that has brought that to life!
Not only is Aaron incredibly talented when it comes to music; he captures beautiful moments through imagery gathered along the way in his travels. If there is an example of living a troppy life, he is it!
He so graciously took the time to sit with us and answered some burning questions of ours, as well as shared some of his personal collection of images for us to share with you. You'd think they were straight out of your saved Pinterest board!

How long have you been involved in music?
Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.
What began as a deep appreciation and general curiosity for sound turned into DJing, producing and collecting.
It's continued to grow alongside me.
What would you describe as your music taste?
Feel good music for the more discerning listener.
Who are some artists that get you moving? Be it your body or creativity.
At this present moment, the "Aint No Damn Way" album by Kaytranada slaps! He sure goes from strength to strength with everything he touches.
Kokoroko from the UK are a joy to listen to as they encompass British R&B, Neo Soul and West African Disco. They come correct and their sound is fine, divine and on time!
Been enjoying a lot of old Latin Classics from Joe Bataan and Ray Barretto on the Fania Record Label as well.
So much music, so little time.
When we first approached Aaron, Oh So Troppy and the first collection was still a concept...a talking point. We fast forward beyond this initial campaign to what now, has been several playlists supporting our designs and aiding the mood.
When given the brief for creating the vibrations behind our first campaign, what were your initial thoughts?
Well firstly, I honestly couldn't believe that I'd even been given the chance to do something or create the right vibrations for the campaign. Almost every music lover, DJ or producer dreams to put something together visually, musically or sonically for someone.
Secondly, after reading the brief without the ability to physically see a product or even be within proximity of an exchange was difficult; being in different countries, in different time zones interpreting the brief was a challenge.
Visually and audibly I wanted to make sure that you felt the day dream. Almost like a ceremonial exchange with a MIX CD of sounds you never heard before but still hits.
In fitting with the inspiration, what is something you are daydreaming about?
Oh, you can catch me daydreaming constantly. Usually it's of traveling, record stores... faraway lands with less distractions and my camera along with a good coffee and ice cream. In that order!
Music is something to be shared, yet can also be deeply personal... does the sounds you've created for our campaigns now have a memory or feeling attached to them?
They all hold a special memory. Truth be told I had been struggling creatively and fell out of music. So, this task helped me get out and have fun without being too precious. I hope they have a life of their own with the brand and the community, as well as the owner and creator of Oh So Troppy.
As long as it stays inline with being true to the brand ethos, then that's all that matters.
Music is not your only creative super-power. You have an amazing eye for spotting beauty all around you. This is yet another outlook that resonates with us and truly embodies a troppy life. Do you have any tips on how others can live a troppy life?
Inviting that as part of your lifestyle certainly does help! Whether it be in daily habits, mindset or your environment, you can spot beauty from anywhere. Being outside in nature or by the ocean with headphones on listening to some Bossa or some fresh flowers along with some decent plants in the house can take you to that troppy place.
Speaking of 'beauty all around you', you have visited many different and unique locations. What have been some of your favourite places/memories and why?
Oman was amazing, as it is the hidden gem of the Gulf. The hospitality, culture and food, as well as the history are what makes it worth visiting.
Türkiye is also incredible for the sheer size and access to Asia and Europe. People think Istanbul is the place to go, but getting out to places like İzmir and the coast where you can hop on a $5 ferry return to Greece for the day or weekend was bonkers!
The more you travel and experience new cultures really is good for the soul and ones creativity.
You take work seriously, and bring that same energy to your rest & recharge; something we at Oh So Troppy are all about. Where is next on your wish list of destinations?
I definitely want to visit Japan in the winter but visit smaller places like Hokuriku or both Sado and Goto Islands. I've had my eye on visiting Kazakhstan as well as Georgia.
So watch this space!
Given you know the Founder of the brand and the enthusiasm that has gone into sharing the troppy outlook with the world. What does Oh So Troppy mean to you?
Knowing the Founder and seeing the firsthand passion, enthusiasm and intention behind Oh So Troppy gives the brand a deeper meaning for me.
Oh So Troppy represents a way of moving through the world with curiosity, ease and purpose. It's not about the dressing occasion, but the outlook you carry - being present, connected to a place and open to experiences. There is a sincerity to the brand that comes from lived moments and creativity.
To me, Oh So Troppy feels like a reminder to slow down, tune into the senses and embrace a lifestyle that values feeling as much as form.
And lastly, what's your top 3 pieces from our 'Echoes of the Ocean' collection?
OH SO ESSENTIAL T-SHIRT - It's just that easy piece to live in.
SEA BLOOM SHIRT - It's captures the ocean essence all in one.
WEEKEND PANT- Again, easy piece. Can literally wear them with everything I own.
